In 1966 the world’s first articulated hauler with all-wheel drive, the DR631 (Gravel Charlie), was born here. On top of that, the site can boast about being the first CO 2 neutral factory across the entire industry. At the end of December 2013, Volvo Construction Equipment’s Braås facility completed its journey towards becoming carbon neutral. The 45,000 m2 site in southern Sweden specializes in the design and manufacture of articulated haulers. The site which has been around since 1955, now runs 100 percent on renewable energy sources. On November 28th, Braås plant hosted the first WWF Climate Savers partner audit in a series of Swedish Volvo CE factory visits.
